Photographs of Ben Morse (Vassar class of 1993) and Richard Mason, from the October 11, 2007 article in Italian Vanity Fair about their wedding (civil partnership) ceremony on September 23, 2007 in Glasgow, Scotland (article by Federico Chiara). Theirs was unofficially the first openly gay ceremony to be performed in a church in Scotland. Ben had a green herringbone tweed suit made by a local Edinburgh tailor, and Richard still fit into the bespoke suit his father had made for him when he was 18. The title of the article translates as “I Now Declare you Husband and Husband.”

“We had a Scottish Episcopal ceremony at which Jews and atheists took communion, and we were somewhat unofficially the first openly gay ceremony to be performed in a church in Scotland.” - Ben Morse (Vassar class of 1993)
